-Gaviscon contains sodium alginate. It is classed as an “alginate” – forms a “protective layer” over the stomach contents which helps to prevent acid coming back up into the oesophagus (food pipe).It is fast acting and has a soothing effect lasting up to four hours. It is effective to treat the classic symptoms of heartburn (a burning pain in the chest and mild acid regurgitation).
-Gaviscon liquid soothes in just 4 minutes and last for up to 4 hours.
DOSAGE
-Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 sachets after meals and at bedtime.
-Children 6-12 years old: 1/2-1 sachet after meals and at bedtime.
-Children under 6 years: Seek your doctor's advice.
-If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Do not take if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients as very rarely difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred.
Shake well before use.
